Rob did the Jordanelle Sprint Triathlon on August 21st. It was his first time doing an open water swim in a wetsuit.
Before the race (pre-wetsuit shot)...
Ready for the swim to begin...
The yellow caps begin the swim...
Coming up the ramp after the swim...
A perfect picture of the guy ahead of Rob on the bike portion! Oops! I took it too soon not knowing how fast my camera would actually take the picture. We really need a better camera if we are going to keep taking action shots. You can see him on the far right, just inside the frame...
Heading to the finish line...

Race times:
Swim (750 meters): 21:14
T1: 3:35
Bike (13.4 miles): 53:19
T2: 1:58
Run (5k): 36:23
Final time: 1:56:32
The course was a lot different than last year's Cache Valley Sprint Triathlon (which is a pool swim and a pretty flat bike and run course) so he didn't know what to expect. I say he did pretty well considering the cold water taking his breath away and having to resort to backstroke and the inclines he had to conquer on the bike and run. Good job, babe!
Gotta get a picture of the cheerleaders (hey it was hard work keeping that boy entertained for 4 1/2 hours in the sun with no stroller!)...
Trevor and I came to watch and cheer him on...for like the 10 seconds total you see him during the race :o). The other kids stayed at the cabin with aunts and uncles and cousins and then went to Mirror Lake (we joined them afterwards). Rob had to be there by 7:30 a.m. but the race didn't start until 9:30 a.m. so it made for a very long morning with just a few meltdowns :o)
