Ashlee's ballet performance was today. Each class performed a dance to the different songs from the Nutcracker. Ashlee's class danced to the Clowns song. At the end, the Sugar Plum Fairy from this year's Nutcracker performed. I was pretty bummed about one thing. The performance classes are supposed to perform in costumes but Ashlee's class was one of two (out of 10) that didn't have costumes. Her teacher has two classes for Ashlee's level and they both performed the same dance. There weren't enough costumes for everyone so they just wore what they wear to class. In May they have a recital for the technique and performance classes, but in December the recital is just for the performance classes. One of the main reasons I signed her up for performance class this semester was so she could perform in costume. Oh well...hopefully in May. Here is her dance. She is the second one in line.
The two best chaotic parts I thought were where the one girl forgets to go into the middle so her partner had to go all the over to the other side to spin around with her, then at the end when they saut de chat off the stage and the girl right next to Ashlee trips over the rolled up carpet.
You'll notice a few times during the performance when Ashlee has to remind the other dancers around her what to do or she starts going where she's supposed to but the others are in the way.

Oh that takes me back to when I was in dancing. You think you're doing everything just right, but then watching it, it just looks like chaos!
So cute. My girl's studio is doing the nutcracker for their recital on Wed. She's a soldier - i might post her video on the family blog.
she did a great job!

How fun. She looked super cute. I notice that you got her hair pulled back perfectly!
great job ashlee...don't let those other girls who don't know what they're doing slow you down!
I think your daughter is the only one who really knows the whole thing! She rocks!
Oh, I'm glad you posted this-- it was fun to see Ashlee in action-- great job!
