Ashlee got into the spirit of Christmas this year by donating her hair to
Locks of Love. At the beginning of the school year last year, her student teacher told the class that she was growing her hair to donate to Locks of Love. Ashlee came home from school that day and told me she wanted to grow her hair out, too. She told me how some kids lose their hair when they are sick and she wanted to donate her hair for them to make wigs for kids. I thought it was very caring of her to want to do this. 15 months later...her hair was finally long enough. She ended up getting 12 inches cut off.
The "before" shot looks a little weird because I took it right after she took the pony tail out of her hair that she had it in all day.

That is so great! Nicole did that a couple of years ago. She got a little post card back from lock of love and has it in her scrapbook. Ashlee looks so cute!
What a sweet thing for her to do! It's so gratifying as a parent when your child makes up their own mind to do good things for people. She looks darling with her new haircut too! Kind of reminds me of Mary Anne. :)

Ashlee's haircut is so cute! Rachel was so excited to learn that Ashlee has short hair now, too. Rachel donated her hair to Locks of Love in August, right before school started. I'll have to try to find the pictures, and post them on our blog. It's wonderful for the girls to experience donating something so personal as their hair.
